University of Portland will host the 2015 NATS Classical Festival. Students from around the state come together to compete in a variety of age and ability divisions with an assortment of classical song literature. Erin's studio will have students competing, and she will also be serving on the adjudication panel.
Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon hosts the 2015 NATS Fall Musical Theater Festival, a competition that showcases singers from across the state. Students from Erin's studio will be competing in the festival, and Erin will be serving on the adjudication panel.
In collaboration with mezzo-soprano Sarah Maines and pianist Susan McDaniel, Erin will present a beautiful, intimate program of songs by Strauss, Schubert, Satie, and Faure at locations throughout the Portland area in the month of October. Exact performance details to be announced soon!
From the Oregon Dressage Society website: "Now in its sixth year, the 2015 USDF Region 6 Youth Overnight Camp hosted by ODS and held at DevonWood Equestrian Centre promises to be a wonderful educational experience. This program is dedicated to youth, regardless of membership or experience."
Erin will be presenting Ridden Rhythms as a guest lecturer on the educational panel at camp.
Erin is joined by pianist Susan McDaniel on a program of lieder featuring works by Schubert, Strauss, and Wagner in the lovely Recital Hall at Classic Pianos on Portland's Eastside.
Erin and her husband, Jaybill, are welcoming their own little maestro in early February 2015. Though she is taking a performance hiatus from December 2014 to March 2015, she is continuing to develop opportunities for later in the year.
Projects through the end of 2014 include a recording session with Sarah Maines and Susan McDaniel of the Hair Emergency! song cycle as well as a recording session of works by Wagner, Strauss, Verdi, and Britten with Susan McDaniel and Richard Bower.
Erin is joined by mezzo-soprano Hannah Penn, tenor Giovanni Formisano, and baritone Anton Belov as they perform some of the Verismo literature's best-loved works. With the masterful Susan McDaniel at the piano and featuring the Linnfield College chorus, the concert features works by Puccini, Leoncavallo, Giordano, and Mascagni. The performance will take place in Melrose Hall's beautiful Ice Auditorium.

Join Erin as she partners with mezzo-soprano Sarah Maines and pianist Susan McDaniel for an evening of exquisite songs, arias, and duets that showcases the brilliance of 19th, 20th, and 21st Century American composers. Featuring works by Bernstein, Floyd, Heggie, and Moore as well as new arrangements of traditional folk songs, the program also showcases the Northwest debut of Hair Emergency!, a new song cycle by Richard Pearson Thomas that was a finalist in the 2014 NATS Art Song Composition competition.
As one of the selected singers chosen from an international pool of applicants, Erin will travel to New York to compete on July 9th for a spot in the final round of this exciting new competition. Round 2 takes place before a panel of esteemed judges including James Morris and Jane Eaglen in List Hall at the Metropolitan Opera.
Join pianist Susan McDaniel, soprano Natalie Gunn, mezzo-soprano Sarah Maines, and myself for our final concert in the Le Menu series! The chapel in the First United Methodist Church in downtown Portland serves as the venue for this special event. Presenting arias, duets, and trios, the four of us ladies have delighted in preparing and performing this program all over the area and this emotional concert is sure to be unforgettable.

From The Statesman Journal: “Acclaimed soprano Natalie Gunn, Willamette University Adjunct Instructor of Voice, will present a recital on Saturday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. in Hudson Hall, Rogers Music Center. Gunn will be joined onstage by fellow soprano Erin G. McCarthy, mezzo-soprano Sarah Maines and pianist Susan McDaniel. The recital will be split into two parts, and will feature several duets and trios. The first half will be sung in Italian and will feature works by Gioachino Rossini, George Frideric Handel and Giuseppe Verdi. The second half will feature music from Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms, Felix Mendelssohn, Richard Strauss and Gabriel Faure. There will also be a surprise ending to the performance.”
