Welcoming students of every age and ability, the Erin G. McCarthy Vocal Studio is where singers can learn it all: clear and vibrant tone production, correct breathing and alignment, dramatic interpretation, and the lifelong skills that nurture the joy of singing. With many years of experience guiding singers with patience and care, Erin excels at teaching the whole vocal instrument in all styles and techniques, including musical theater, classical, jazz, folk, pop and rock.
Erin is a thoughtful, supportive teacher who focuses on results. Lessons are tailored specifically to each student’s goals, with a focus on healthy production, effective sound, musicality and expression. Whether preparing for a performance, getting ready for an audition, tuning up for choir, or singing for fun, Erin helps each student develop a short- and long-term plan for success.
Erin's students have performed on stages from Tualatin to Tuscany, and Studio singers are routinely in the winner's circle for local and national competitions, gaining placement and scholarship at some of the nation's most prestigious conservatories, and landing roles in local theater productions.
Erin is an active member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and regularly engages in masterclasses, workshops, lectures, and festivals throughout the region. She frequently collaborates with her colleagues in creating and hosting educational events such as language workshops or acting classes for her students.
Erin G. McCarthy Vocal Studio is located 30 minutes from Portland in Newberg, Oregon on Erin's family farm, Fermata Farm.
